Suave Bets — Beginner Help & Navigation

Plain-English guide for new users. Research only — not a sportsbook. 21+.

First-visit tips

What it is: A quick tour of the main tabs so you can find props without guessing.

How to use it:

  1. Open Suave Bets. The top bar shows Board, Props, Lineups, and Help.
  2. Tap Props to open the Player desk (the main prop board).
  3. Pick a sport pill. On Props they run WNBA, NBA, CBB, NFL, CFB, MLB, NHL, UFC.
  4. Tap a player card to open Recent Performance. Add a Board number, or + Add Over / + Add Under when that button is on the card.

Tip: The Board shows the day’s slate. Filter it with Action, Live, Final, or Watched. A game with no posted number says Line pending. Finished games say Final. Player props jumps to the desk. Lineups opens rosters and the injury report for WNBA, NFL, and MLB. The Board also has MLS. Props does not.

Props board

What it is: The Player desk — live player props with form, matchup notes, and book prices.

How to use it:

  1. Go to Props in the top nav.
  2. Choose a sport (WNBA, NBA, CBB, NFL, CFB, MLB, NHL, UFC).
  3. Scroll the cards. On NFL you’ll also see Best legs by game. When a slate is posted, that block’s heading ends in slips: Smoke & BetGuru.
  4. On WNBA, NFL, CFB, and MLB, use Open rosters & injury report when you need who’s in or out. The CFB link opens the NFL lineup list. NBA, CBB, NHL, and UFC do not show that link.

Tip: A line only shows when a book this desk already tracks has posted it. If you see Line pending, wait — don’t guess. CFB lists props only for tagged games. An empty CFB list says Only some CFB games hang player props. Open a tagged game on the board.

Line: the number the book sets for a player’s stat (for example, 72.5 receiving yards).

Over / under: bet the player finishes above (over) or below (under) that line. PrizePicks calls those sides More and Less. The card buttons say + Add Over and + Add Under.

Edge

What it is: A tag that means our model sees a meaningful gap between the fair price and the book’s price.

How to use it:

  1. On the Props desk, look for cards or seals marked Edge.
  2. Open the card and read the one-line reason and the line vs projection.
  3. Prefer Edge picks that also clear +EV (see next section).
  4. Recheck the price before you bet — lines move.

Tip: Edge usually means about 3+ points of model edge at the best available price. Bigger gaps get a second look; they are not auto-locks.

Edge: how much better (in probability points) our fair number looks versus the book’s price.

De-vig: removing the sportsbook’s built-in fee from the odds so you can see a fairer “true” price.

+EV

What it is: A filter for props where the expected value is positive at the listed price.

How to use it:

  1. Use the desk’s Edge / +EV filters when they appear on the sport you’re viewing. The buttons are labeled +EV only and Edges only on NFL, MLB, NBA, WNBA, and CBB when today’s games are up, and on CFB’s Cards view (the other CFB view is To score X+). NHL and UFC do not show those buttons.
  2. Confirm the side (Over or Under) and the best book price on the card.
  3. Skip players marked questionable, doubtful, or out. A questionable player wears a QUESTIONABLE pill on that player’s own card.
  4. If the price gets worse and +EV disappears, drop the pick.

Tip: +EV means the math says you’d profit over many bets at this price — not that tonight is a lock.

+EV (plus expected value): the bet is priced better than our fair odds, so the long-run math is in your favor.

Player card tabs

What it is: The approved player poster (same layout as the live NFL card). One place for the line, recent form, and the game log.

How to use it:

  1. Tap a player on the Props desk to open the card.
  2. Stay on Recent Performance first: matchup line, orange first name over big white last name, position and team, headshot on the right, orange line sentence, the stat pill row, the glass bar chart with the orange line and opponent labels, then the L5, L10, H2H, and Season Avg tiles. UFC uses Career Avg instead of Season Avg.
  3. Switch stat pills (yards, receptions, and so on) to redraw the chart for that market.
  4. Open Game Log for the last 20 games. Use Full game log on ESPN when you need older games. On MLB, use the middle tab too: vs Pitcher for hitters, vs Lineup for pitchers.

Tip: L5 / L10 / H2H / Season Avg are quick averages — last 5 games, last 10, head-to-head vs this opponent, and the season. UFC’s fourth tile is Career Avg. Use them together; don’t trust one tile alone.

Slips

What it is: Your working list at the bottom of the screen (Your slip). Suave Bets does not place the bet — you send it to a book and confirm there.

How to use it:

  1. On the Board, tap a spread, total, or moneyline number to add that game line.
  2. On a prop card that can go on a slip, tap + Add Over or + Add Under. It switches to Remove when that leg is already on the slip. NBA posters and the Props-desk posters do not show that button; use the game’s Props tab (college football labels it CFB Props).
  3. Keep slips short. Best legs by game lists at most 4. The dock keeps one side of a stat per player at each book.
  4. Open the dock, review each leg, and use Remove pick on anything you don’t want. Clear empties the slip.
  5. Tap Send to FD, Send to DK, or Send to PP (FanDuel, DraftKings, or PrizePicks), or Copy, then place and confirm the bet in that app.

Tip: Questionable players stay off serious slips. If a leg only “works” because a teammate might sit, skip it.

Sign-up and account

What it is: A free account so you can save the sports and teams you follow and turn alerts on. Pinning a game on the Board is a separate sign-in.

How to use it:

  1. Tap Join the family!! in the top bar, or open /join. Use Log in on that page if you already have an account.
  2. On Join the family!!, add an email, a phone number, or both. Log in later with that same email or phone. This page has no password, and no Google or X button.
  3. Enter the code shown on the next screen (it is not emailed or texted yet). Then pick 3 to 5 sports and a favorite team in each sport.
  4. On How should we reach you?, turn Email, Push, or both on for each alert. After you finish, the same form is at /preferences. The top bar calls that link Alerts.

Tip: The public board stays open. You do not need an account just to browse props. The star on a Board row says Sign in to pin games until you do. That screen’s buttons are Continue with Google and Continue with X.

Notifications

What it is: Optional alerts for the sports and teams you follow. Each alert has its own Email and Push switch. Push can stay on by itself.

How to use it:

  1. Set them on the last join step, How should we reach you?, or later at /preferences (Alerts in the top bar).
  2. Tap Email or Push on each alert. The email footer includes the postal address on file. Push does not wait on email.
  3. Weekly top picks goes out at 6:00 PM ET the evening before game day: one pick from each sport you follow, plus a bonus pick when you follow four or more. No parlays.
  4. You can also turn on Pre-game alert, Game-day alerts, NFL Sunday picks, Injury and practice updates, Depth charts and starting lineups, and Game context.

Tip: Digests are single props only — not parlays. Prices can move; always recheck the book before you bet.

FAQ

1. Does Suave Bets place bets for me?

No. You build a slip here, then tap Send to FD, Send to DK, or Send to PP and confirm the bet at FanDuel, DraftKings, or PrizePicks.

2. What do Edge and +EV mean in one line each?

Edge = our model sees a real gap vs the book (about 3+ points). +EV = the price still looks profitable after that gap.

3. Why is a line missing on a card?

The desk only shows a line when a tracked book has posted it. Until then you’ll see Line pending. A finished Board game says Final.

4. How many picks are in a notification digest?

Weekly top picks sends one pick from each sport you follow, plus a bonus pick when you follow four or more. A send needs at least 3 valid picks and never more than 6. If fewer than 3 clear, we hold the send.

5. Where do I see older games than the last 20?

Open the card’s Game Log tab, then use Full game log on ESPN when that link appears.
